Re-imagining Older Buildings for New Life and Purpose

AvardDaniels specializes in the adaptive re-use of structurally sound buildings, which are no longer viable for their current functions. An example of this is older hospitals, which have outlived their ability to provide high-tech modern inpatient care. These older hospital buildings convert easily to housing, retail, less intensive healthcare functions, and other community-serving functions. Other examples of conversions AvardDaniels works on include older hotels and motels, as well as schools and churches. These are buildings which typically have strong infrastructure and solid exteriors with lots of windows. Giving these 30+ years old buildings a chance to have another 30+ years of life is good for the environment and the community.
